James River Bible Camp opened in 1961 on the site of the James River Church some 11 miles north of Sundre, Alberta and operated until merged with Alberta Camp to become Rivers Edge Camp.
Several congregations in southern Alberta have operated a camp since about 1961 beginning as Cypress Camp and with a name change to Whispering Pines Camp.
Records of the congregation begun in the Forest Lawn area of Calgary, Alberta in 1983 and closed in 1994.
