Alvin Traub's short-term Bible classes conducted in Didsbury, 1922-26, the success of which led to the founding of MVBS.

Edmonton Bible Institute (sometimes named Beulah Bible Institute) was operated by Beulah Mission in Edmonton from 1913 to 1919 under Miss Maude Chatham. It was a predecessor to MVBS.

The Church began in 1902 under the Evangelical Association as the “Didsbury Mission” growing to include, as a circuit, Siebertville, Mayton, Kansas, and Sunnyslope. In 1994 it joined with the Missionary Church in Didsbury to form Zion EMC Church.
