Evangelical Church in Canada

The Evangelical United Brethren Church at its 1966 conference authorized the NWCC Evangelical Church to us the term “The Evangelical Church” and to elect its own Conference Superintendent. After being granted autonomy, in 1970 the Conference adopted the name “The Evangelical Church in Canada” to complement its still legal name, the Northwest Canada Conference Evangelical Church, until it joined in merger in 1993.

EMCC West Leaders' Records

Accounts and records of individuals who served with the EMCC in the West administratively, as pastors, laymen, educators, or missionaries other than those who served under World Partners. Persons who served both as missionaries and pastors are listed consistent with the last ministry in which they worked.

Denominational Mission

The mission began with the work of Ebenezer Anthony and A. W. Banfield at Patigi, Nigeria in 1901 and continued under the denomination until 1978 when the responsibility for the work and its physical assets were assumed by the United Missionary Church of Africa.
